  • Print

As you know, I am a HUGE advocate for adopting rescue animals. I was the kid always bringing animals home saying "Can we keep him? PLEASE???" And nothing has changed. There are so many animals that would make a great pet - they just need that second chance. And this weekend the Kansas Humane Society is doing a round-the-clock adoption drive with a goal of adopting 200 animals!!! There are lots of fun things going on for the whole family AND reduced adoption fees. So here's the rundown on what's going on!

- All dog, cat, puppy, and kitten adoptions are 50% off

“This is the biggest adoption event in the history of our organization and we’re not going home ‘till they do!” said Kim Janzen, KHS President/CEO. “We want everyone to have a great time and to support our efforts to save even more pets than last year and win the ASPCA $100,000 Challenge. “
The Kansas Humane Society is the only Kansas competitor in the nationwide ASPCA’s $100K Adoption Challenge. During this contest, KHS is competing against 46 other animal shelters across the country adopt more animals—during the months of August, September, and October 2010—than ever before. The shelter that achieves the greatest increase in lives saved during that period will receive a $100,000 grant from the ASPCA to continue their lifesaving work.
