ZAC BROWN BAND - YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE
This was my most highly-anticipated CD of 2010. Their debut CD "The Foundation" was my number one CD of 2008. I pretty much wore out that CD. I was hoping and hoping that this new CD would be as good as the last - and in my opinion it's actually a better CD. I didn't know that would be possible!
ZBB is an absolute joy to listen to. What I love is finding a CD that you don't skip a track. Sure, you might get stuck on a song and listen to it over and over, let's say like "No Hurry", (co-written by James Otto by the way) but next thing you know you're stuck on another track, like let's say " Colder Weather". Each song is so different - yet so Zac Brown Band. These guys are simply amazing musicians - listen to "Whiskey's Gone", in fact, crank it up when you do that's one you want to really hear as there's just a lot to listen to. This band has exceptional harmonies and the arrangements on these song are absolutely perfect.
Personally, I think adding Alan Jackson to "As She's Walking Away" was brilliant. I love when he comes in that song..."Wise man next to me did say 'bout the one that got away" and then there's ALAN JACKSON "Son I missed my chance"...brilliant!
I think that when Zac Brown Band burst onto the country scene with "Chicken Fried" they upped the game for everyone. They're music is fresh, it's unique and no matter how many times I listen to this CD I can't imagine I'll ever get tired of it.
