Blake Shelton has had one heckuva 2011 - he was on a hit TV show, got married, won male vocalist of the year and put out one great CD "Red River Blue".
I have been a Blake Shelton fan for a long, long time. As a fan, I can't tell you how many times this year I thought "about time!" when I heard him getting cudos about a great song or another career milestone. There were a lot people who seemed to discover him for the first time - like he hasn't been putting out consistently, great CDs for a long time. I think he deserves all the recognition he's getting.
"Red River Blue", in my opinion, doesn't break any new ground for Blake. He doesn't need to break any new ground!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just happy that other people are starting to give him more credit. This CD is what every Blake CD does - it is filled with great COUNTRY songs. Songs that will touch your heart and showcase his amazing vocals (I'm Sorry), songs that will make you laugh "Hey" and songs that will be big hits for years to come (Honeybee). Whenever I hear "Red River Blue" I wish that him and Miranda would put out a CD together. I don't know that their respective record labels will ever let them do that, but wouldn't that be great????????
