So many people were affected by the recent storms and they have a long road ahead of them. Many of their pets are in need of temporary shelter along with food and kitty litter. Can you help them out by donating??? Here is the information from the Kansas Humane Society:

Sedgwick County Animal Response Team (SCART) andSedgwick County Animal Services are distributing FREE pet food for Oaklawn residents in need every day from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Community Center for the next seven days (April 18 – 25).  The pet food has been donated by Hill’s Science Diet and by caring Wichita citizens.

You can help by donating:

  • Dog Food
  • Cat Food
  • Cat Litter

All donated items must be unopened, unexpired.

Emergency boarding for pets is available at Wichita Animal Services at (316) 350-3366 or the Kansas Humane Society at (316) 524-9196.  Both facilities are open 1 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Monday – Saturday.  Please note that not all Red Cross and other disaster shelters accept pets and plan accordingly for the care of your human and pet families.  More information on disaster preparedness pet planning is available at the ASPCA’s website.

SCART is a non-profit volunteer organization that is dedicated to providing assistance to animals and animal owners involved in disaster.   Learn more about SCART on their Facebook pageor website.
