  • Big and Rich talk about their latest single!

Are you excited to see them Saturday night at Hartman Arena??? If you don't have tickets yet - you're still in luck. ALL tickets left are only $25! Super great deal. I always love the story behind the song - and I assumed they WROTE their new single. It totally sounds like a song they would write - but they didn't. Here's what they have to say about the new single:

  • RIP Ruckus

I saw this posted on the Wichita Police Department's facebook page (if you don't like them you should!). This touched my heart. I think dog's are so amazing and this dog dedicated his life to serving and protecting. RIP Ruckus - your work here is done and remember, all dogs go to heaven.

  • Please help me find this dog a loving home!

My friends found this dog about a week ago...we have tried finding her people and no luck. So we now need to find her a new home! She's pretty young, we think around a year, we'll make sure she has her shots and everything so you don't have to worry about that. She just needs a good home with lots of love!

  • You Could WIN A Cruise!!!!!!

That's could WIN a cruise on our 2013 Cruise with Carol! Join us July 21st at our official cruise sponsor, Craft Country Gifts. I'll be broadcasting live from 10-noon and you can stop by and get registered to win a cruise for two. We'll draw one qualifier that day - and it could be YOU! Ask Cindy Glazier how that worked out for her last time we were there...she's a qualifier! We'll end up with four qualifers so you have great odds of winning if you are the lucky person on July 21st!

  • Thank you Andy Griffith

There are a few people on this big earth I don't know but I would like to thank them for being here. Andy Griffith is one of those people (also included: Carol Burnett, Betty White). Andy Griffith has ALWAYS been part of my life. I grew up watching the Andy Griffith show and he always felt so real to me that it was like he was an uncle or someone in my family. I just don't feel the same way about many stars today. There are very few people anymore who you feel like you know - and you've never met them.

  • One Free Cat = Years of Happiness for you!

This Saturday from 11am to 1 pm, you can adopt a cat or kitten from the Kansas Humane Society for FREE!!! They have more than 80 cats and kittens that really need to be in forever homes. Keep in mind, even though the kittys are free, you can still donate $$ to the Humane Society!

  • It's hot, so here is a Cats Playing In Snow Video!

I decided that Kansas would seem less hot today if I thought about snow. Then I decided I should watch a video with snow. Then I thought I would like to find animals playing in snow. Then I found this. Here's something you don't see often - a Cats Playing In Snow Video!

  • New Tim McGraw and NEWER Tim McGraw!

Tim McGraw's in kind of a great professional place right now and a weird professional place right now. He just left Curb Records and signed with Big Machine Records. No big deal except for both labels are putting out new Tim songs at pretty much the same time.

  • Imagine wearing a fur coat in this heat!!!!

It's hot outside. Imagine how hot you'd be in a fur coat! Well, your animals are wearing fur coats and this hot weather can be very dangerous for your pets. Years ago my dog Jess had a heat stroke and it was VERY scary. So do what you can to protect your four-legged friends from these hot temperatures..

  • Argh! Why can't we get The Voice Australia HERE???

I know the answer. It's because we don't live in Australia, we live in the good ol' U S of A. But the thing is - I'm kind of addicted to The Voice and KEITH URBAN is a judge in Australia. With one million channels on my Cox Cable (I'm exaggerating just a little) you think one of them could carry The Voice Australia. Oh well...

  • Iowa, Italian Food, Blake and Luke!

What a last week or two I've had. It's been filled with tears, laughter, music, family and delicious food. I had vacation scheduled for a few months to go to Burlington, Iowa for Steamboat Days. I have two sisters who live there, one Sicilian brother-in-law (for real, from Sicily), a niece and a nephew and this year Blake Shelton AND Luke Bryan would be there so I didn't want to miss it.

  • An update on our friend and coworker Dane Daniel

This has been a tough, tough week here at KFDI. One thing I have always appreciated about KFDI is that I have always felt like I'm part of a family. My coworkers aren't just people I work with - they are all people I care very much about and I feel like we're all part of a family here. And when one person needs help, people here step up and do what they have to do.

  • Here you go Kenny Chesney Fans - it's his new video!

Girls in skimpy bikinis and Kenny playing piano AND Kenny without his cowboy hat! It's all in his brand-spanking new video for "Come Over". Check it out!

  • Update on our friend and coworker, Dane Daniel

You've heard Dane's voice on the air here on KFDI for years. He's our number one go-to guy when it comes to filling in a shift. As you might imagine, filling in can be a challenge as everyone's shows are a little different and Dane always fills in and makes it seem so effortless...and let me tell you, it's not.

  • Kellie Pickler at River Festival!

Don't miss the KFDI Coleman Country Concert this Sunday night at the West Bank Stage. This year it's very different as it's a ticketed show...which means you need a ticket to get in! You can get them for $15 at all select-a-seat ticket outlets (and I'm assuming they'll be selling them at the gate too). David Nail hits the stage at 6:30 and Kellie goes on at 8:00.

  • Now THIS is a great proposal!

Alright, I will admit it...this makes me cry! It makes me cry because I think it's so sweet and thoughtful. When you think about all of the planning that went into it as well as rehearsal AND he had so many friends and family members be part of the proposal - well, it just touches my heart. When you watch this, try to watch it in full screen because you can really see her reaction as the video goes along. So sweet. I think these two will have many happy years together. And after seeing this I think I'd like to meet them!

  • Has anyone seen this dog????

First off, I don't know what I would do if Buddy was missing. I just couldn't imagine. Have you seen this girl???

  • KFDI Listeners Punk'd by Easton Corbin!

First off: it wasn't my idea to take Easton Corbin out in the crowd waiting to get in to our Listener Appreciation Show - it was HIS idea!!!!

  • Need to exercise more??? Walk your dog!!!!!!

If there is one thing I am good at - it's walking my dog. I think I love it as much as Buddy does. It's a great way for both of us to not only get exercise but it's a great time for me to clear my head AND a great time to work with Buddy on his training. (That's something we're always working on!) Dan Dillon sent me this article and I think it's very well written. And with the temperatures starting to heat up, please watch your dog carefully when you're walking in warmer temperatures. A heat stroke is VERY serious for you and for your dog. It's scary too, it happened to my dog years ago and it was only about 80 degrees that day - but it was very humid. Make sure they have plenty to drink too!

  • How you can help Wichitans AND their four-legged family members affected by the storms...

So many people were affected by the recent storms and they have a long road ahead of them. Many of their pets are in need of temporary shelter along with food and kitty litter. Can you help them out by donating??? Here is the information from the Kansas Humane Society:
