The Start! Heart Walk was Saturday (6-18-11) and I can't remember having as much fun at any walk EVER as the one today.
Maybe one reason is the fun loving atmosphere the gang from the American Heart Association creates.
Namely, Teri Mather.
She came to the radio station wearing a "banana suit" on Friday (6-17-11) (see below) and brought me a bouquet of bananas. Why? Because bananas are a big part of the food they serve to get ready for the heart walk.
We really had a great time this year and I am confident that the Heart Walk will bring in, probably surpass, the $340,000 goal.
Here is Teri stopping by the KFDI studios during our morning show Friday to promote the Start! Heart Walk. I mentioned a couple of times that I really enjoyed the bananas at the walk in previous years.
Teri takes every sooooo literally. She came dressed as a banana!
I really like this woman. Any girl who can look that good dressed as a banana is a "keeper."
Below are some more photos from the day:
Here is me and Bekki Gardner from Classic Country 92.3 starting out the walk. We were the first to walk......but were passed by a gazillion people by the time the walk was over.
