A hero is coming home to Wichita!

  • Print

Staff Sgt. Beau Chastain is coming home on Monday.  SSgt Chastain is coming home from the middle east with something in his possession he didn't have when he left for Afghanistan.  He now has a Purple Heart.  That's because Sergeant Chastain was injured in Afghanistan on June 9, 2011.

Sergeant Chastain, an Explosive Ordinance Disposal technician deployed from McConnell's 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron, was shot in the upper left thigh while conducting dismounted operations in Helmand Province.

His plane will get into Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita on Monday, June 27th at 9:30pm.

His buddies from McConnell will be there to give him a heroes welcome home.  So will his wife and two small kids.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could give Sergeant Chastain the welcome home of his life?

There's no way we can adequately thank him for his sacrifice.  But we can show him we care and that we are forever in his debt.

If you can, please come to Mid-Continent Airport around 9:25pm Monday night.  I know it's late, but chances are a few of you can make it.
