Sad missing dog story

  • Print

The search is on for Sammy, a missing dog, whose owner is a soldier serving in Afghanistan. Sammy has been missing for a month and Army Specialist's David Wilk's family is in a desperate search for the three year old Pitbull.

David's mother was keeping the dog at her Leavenworth home. Apparently, Sammy jumped over a fence in the backyard and hasn't been seen since late September.

Mom had to break the bad news to her son. "It's been extremely tough," said Wilk. "I hear dogs barking in the middle of the night, and I will actually get out of bed and put on clothes and go look for him."

You can find the missing dog's listing on  Wilks has also checked with vet clinics and animal control without luck. She just wants Sammy to come back home before her son returns from Afghanistan in early 2012. If you have seen Pitbull mix Sammy, call Lisa Wilk at (913) 758-1740.
