Remember when “secretary” somehow became a derogatory term, and “administrative assistant” became politically correct?
In a reversal of a 25 year old trend, the International Association of Administration Professionals reports there has been a 200% increase in their members identifying themselves as SECRETARIES in the past year.
They are crediting the show "Mad Men" for the trend.
In a statement, they say, quote, “‘Mad Men’ may stoke nostalgia for the classic image of the American corporate secretary.”
So, go ahead if you dare and say “secretary” again. You might want to test it out on "Secretaries' Appreciation Day".
Secretaries' Appreciation Week is April 22-28 and Secretaries Appreciation Day is Wednesday, April 25th.
