Baby Shower Games . . . the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

  • Print

I have been put in charge of planning the games for a baby shower I am helping with this Saturday.

So, my first step was to Google "baby shower games" and see what popped up.

OMG, there are some really weird...and shall I say "gross" baby shower games out there.  In a moment I will tell you what I settled on.  But before I do, here are the top 3 that were NOT under consideration:

Pin The Sperm On The Egg - Just like the old fashion game of pin the tail on the donkey, this new and exciting version will thrill your friends and family at your next baby shower!

Pass The Dirty Diaper - One of the "dirtiest" baby shower games is for the host to take a diaper that has been "fixed" with warm chocolate in the right place and have the woman pass it to the woman next to them (make sure everyone is in a circle). When the host stops the music, whomever is holding the diaper is out of the game. a baby shower favorite!

Feed The Baby - The object was to be the first to feed a jar of food to another party guest. One teammate is given a bib and the other is given a tiny spoon. When the mother-to-be says go, begin feeding the participant who is the "baby". The first baby shower team to finish the jar wins.

Brian made up one that he wanted me to do.  I think NOT.  Here is his idea:

What's In The Diaper? - He wanted me to fill baby diapers with different baby foods and have people guess what was in them.  Ugh.  That just sounds too gross to me.

So, I settled on two that I thought would not embarrass anyone.....or gross anyone out.

Baby Gift Bingo - Party guests fill in their own Baby Bingo card with items they think will be given as gifts.  The first person to get a straight line, a diagonal line or all four corners wins a prize.  And the first person to blackout their bingo card also wins!!

and

Baby Word Scramble - a bunch of words that have to do with babies are scrambled up and the guests just have to unscramble them.  The first person to do this wins!
