The "American Idol Small Town Audition Bus Tour" will be in Dodge City Friday, Aug. 24 in Wright Park.
Producers say it is an open audition, and anyone in the area can sign up to show them their stuff.
According to the reality TV show's website, registration for the free auditions begins at 9 a.m. Auditions are open for anyone ages 15 to 29. Participants are encouraged to bring two forms of identification, plus a photograph and personal release form. Parents or legal guardians must accompany children under 18.
They stress that camping out overnight before the auditions will not be allowed and singers are encouraged to show up no more than an hour before the announced start time.
By the end of the day, one singer will have a golden ticket to the next round of auditions — time and date to be announced, you must provide your own transportation. From there, it could be on to Los Angeles — fame and fortune
