Yesterday was Designer Day at Festival Of Trees! The Festival Of Trees starts Thursday, but there is a ton of preparation that takes place in advance.
Every year Brian and I sponsor a tree. Let me be perfectly clear.... He NEVER helps decorate it. So, I asked a good friend, who is also a talented designer, to help me.
Robin is great. But she is a perfectionist. So, the decorating started about 9:30am. And, finally, at about 4:30pm, it was done! I had cramps in my hands. If I never see another ornament for the rest of my life it will be too soon. LOL.
But the tree turned out really beautifully. I can take virtually no credit for the design. I was the helper. Robin was the designer. She said I could only say that if the tree turned out great. And, it did. So I am. Thank you Robin!!
Above is a picture of the tree in progress, with a little hint of Robin. I was also told I couldn't take her picture, so I snuck this one in!
Come see the tree, all finished, at Festival Of Trees in Century II Expo Hall off Kennedy Plaza. There will be 90 trees, wreaths and centerpieces. A Reindeer Romp area for the kids where they can make ornaments, decorate cookies, play games and win prizes. Plus, Santa will be there every hour Festival Of Trees is open (Saturday, 10a-5p and Sunday, 1-4p.) Tickets are only $5 and all of the money goes to Goodwill Industries!
Hope to see you there.
