GO MISS KANSAS! We are with you 100%

If there is an increase in the viewers for Sunday night's Miss America pageant, I am pretty sure that Miss Kansas will be the reason.  Our girl, Theresa Vail, is the talk of the pageant.

Theresa will be the first contestant to openly show her tattoos during the swimsuit competition. A small one is the military medical insignia on her left shoulder and the other is the text of the "serenity prayer," which she said she used to recite when bullied as a child.

She wants to break stereotypes.  This just might do it.  But there's more.

Theresa is a Kansas Army National Guard member and an expert marksman with the M16 rifle.
For her talent she had planned to show off her marksmanship skills with an on-stage archery display, she said in a profile for People magazine. But two days prior, she was told "projectile objects" are forbidden.
So she improvised. Within 48 hours, she'd mastered the opera song Pavarotti's "Nessun Dorma." Whoa.  This woman has it all.

Tune into an ABC News' "20/20" special before the finale Sunday night called "Pageant Confidential" to see Miss Kansas talk about the tattoos.  It will air on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. The pageant will air immediately following at 8 p.m.
