Did anyone download the iTunes app "Plastic Surgery & Plastic Doctor & Plastic Hospital office for Barbie Version?" This is a parent's worst nightmare. The app allows your child to virtually "perform" plastic surgery on "Barbie."
Not licensed by Mattel, this Barbie knock-off App description says "unfortunate girl [who] has so much extra weight that no diet can help her. In our clinic she can go through a surgery called liposuction that will make her slim and beautiful. We'll need to make small cuts on problem areas and suck out the extra fat. Will you operate her, doctor?"
There was a social media uproar, with angry app users reaching out to iTunes and Google Play, and forced iTunes App Store to remove the app.
But for the curious, the app would allow kids to "Give Barbie a local anesthetic on her stomach -- pump out her fat using liposuction tube -- operate on Barbie's fat face by slicing it open -- make incisions in her skin and stitch her up after surgery -- perform liposuction on her face -- suck fat from both the hips and the stomach area -- take off bandages to reveal a scarred and swollen face," describes E!.
