Josh Thompson conjured up a little Johnny Cash memory last week when popped the question to fellow country newcomer Joanna Smith! While performing in Victoria, Texas -- the first show on Josh's Cold Beers and Reindeers tour -- Joanna joined Josh on stage for a duet of the Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash song "Jackson.' Joanna revealed "We were singing the song onstage and having such a great time. Then it was so funny ... Josh stopped singing mid-song and asked me to marry him, just like Johnny did with June and just like in [the movie] 'Walk the Line.'
Blake Shelton is letting a few details of his upcoming wedding to Miranda Lambert slip out. "We're having deer meat served at our wedding -- we've already got a pile of 'em ready," Blake tells Us Magazine. "It was actually [Miranda's] idea. So when your girlfriend thinks like that, it makes it easy for me just to show up and have a good time!"
While Miranda's been planning the food for their upcoming nuptials, it seems Blake has been working on entertainment for the reception -- and it sounds like he's got something fun up his sleeve, even if he's not offering up many details.
Rascal Flatts' 'Why Wait' is spending a second week a top the country singles charts. Reba McEntire slides into second place with 'Turn on the Radio,' followed by Jason Aldean's 'My Kinda Party' at No. 3.
Reba McEntire isn't getting anything for Christmas from husband Narvel Blockstock. Instead of exchanging gifts this year, she and Narvel will adopt another family and give them the royal treatment, providing a tree, holiday decorations and presents. And Reba says she hopes that others follow her example. "If anyone wants to give to a charity, pick out a family: buy them a Christmas dinner," she suggests,"You can say, 'It's from our family and Reba.' And that would be perfect. That would be the greatest Christmas present you could ever give me."
