The surprise news of the year so far is that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are parents of a new baby girl.  The couple didn't elaborate in their statement on the specifics of the baby's surrogate or birth except to use the term "gestational carrier." The term usually means the child would not be genetically related to the surrogate.  At least one source is saying the baby is biologically Keith and Nicole's child.

Keith and Nicole probably won't talk about their new baby with Oprah when she airs her Ultimate Australian Adventure starting today (1-18-11) on the new OWN channel. Throughout the week she’ll make several stops down-under. The adventure comes to a star-studded finale on Friday when she sits down to talk to Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.  The show was taped before the baby was born.

Country concerts at Wichita's Intrust Bank arena are here to stay.  In its first year of operation, the arena made about 1.8 million dollars in net income off about half a million spectators at various concerts and events. Most of those were sold out country concerts. Intrust General Manager AJ Boleski says the arena has received complaints that the variety of shows isn't wide enough. But he admits country concerts sells tickets, "People love it, and that means a lot of ticket sales. Obviously when a show comes in and sells tickets, the promoters really want to bring that type of show back, so that's why you see a lot of country because it gets supported very well, so those shows continue to come back.” So country music isn't going anywhere. Already several country concerts are on the calendar for 2011 at Intrust including Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and possibly Sugarland (they have Intrust listed on their website but the concert has not been announced officially yet.)

Even if the ACM Award show tickets sell out, like the past couple of years, there is still a reason for fans to head to Las Vegas in April. This year Sugarland will headline the first-ever ACM Fan Jam, a fans-only live concert event taking place in Las Vegas simultaneously to the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast on Sunday, April 3rd. The ACM Fan Jam will give fans the ultimate opportunity to be part of the LIVE telecast. Throughout the 3-hour live show from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, there will be performances from the concert close by at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. In addition to Sugarland, other top music acts will be announced at a later date.

Kenny Chesney's 'Somewhere With You' has climbed to the top of the country charts this week. It's Kenny's 21st number one song. Tim McGraw's 'Felt Good on My Lips' drops to No. 2, followed by Keith Urban's 'Put You in a Song' in third place.
