Rascal Flatts is bringing their Nothing Like This Tour to television in March. The group says they are "pumped" about bringing the entire concert experience right into the living room of fans with the one-hour 'Rascal Flatts: Nothing Like This' special on ABC March 12 at 7:00 PM. The special will be filmed this Friday (January 21) at the group's St. Paul, Minn. tour stop.
One-by-one country music stars are taking off their cowboy boots and replacing them with army boots joining "The Boot Campaign" inspired by retired US Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell. Josh Turner, Phil Vassar, Joe Nichols, Randy Houser, Gretchen Wilson, Little Texas, Joe Diffie, Justin Moore, Chuck Wicks are among those on board. The stars are helping to spread the word of "The Boot Campaign" which encourages Americans to purchase a pair of army combat boots to wear in support of our nation’s troops. Proceeds from the boot sales are donated to charities supporting our troops. Keith Urban has a Super Sunday planned on February 6th. He is set to perform at a Super Bowl XLV celebration in advance of the big game. The party, which will air on FOX, will also include performances by Maroon 5, as well as special red carpet interviews.The Super Bowl gig is perfect for the Aussie, who admits to being an avid fan of the sport, thanks to his movie star wife, Nicole Kidman. "She's a passionate, giant supporter," Keith explains. "She's a big NFL fan, and she sort of turned me on to it.
Jason Aldean is throwing his kinda party to celebrate the success of 'My Kinda Party.' The album has just been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A.) for more than one-million copies sold in just 11 weeks since its release. That gives Jason a running total now of five-million total albums sold since his debut five years ago.
Sara Evans has released another novel. This time it's called 'Softly and Tenderly'. It's the second in a four-book series, which began with last year's 'Sweet By and By.' The title of the new book comes from hymn lyrics of the same title: "Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling," which Sara says is a theme of the book which follows the emotional journey of antiques dealer Jade Freedom Fitzgerald.
Faith Hill and the Pretenders will team up for a new episode of 'CMT Crossroads' as part of the festivities surrounding Super Bowl XLV. The show will be a live version airing during the NFL Super Bowl Fan Jam being held Grand Prairie, Texas, on Saturday, February 5, the night before the big game. In staying with the Crossroads theme, Faith Hill and the Pretenders will trade vocals on each other's songs.
