Carrie Underwood makes her silver screen debut in this summer’s movie "Soul Surfer." The movie tells the inspirational story of a surfer who loses her arm in a shark attack. Carrie Underwood is ready to inspire in this heartwarming film. Watch the movie's trailer below and look for Carrie to pop in at about the 1:15 mark. The film is being debuted for church groups across the country first and then will be released in theaters April 8th.
Zac Brown is a daddy again. Zac's wife Shelly gave birth to the couple's fourth daughter, Joni Mason Brown, at the couple's Atlanta, Ga.-area home. The baby was born Wednesday morning. Zac said his wife was one complete bed rest leading up to the birth of the baby, so he was on continuous "diaper and potty duty" with the three other little girls in the house (Justice, 4, Lucy, 2, and Georgia, 1. And if Dad Zac has his druthers, baby No. 5 won't be far behind. "We're just gonna keep on going until we get a boy," Zac, who is one of 12 kids in his family, told The Boot. "If that's 13, then I doubt I'm gonna be able to pull that off, but we'll see."
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards next Sunday night, February 13th will be more like a country awards show with new presenters and performers being announced. The first round of presenters includes Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton. Gwyneth Paltrow will be one of the performers sharing the stage with previously announced performers Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum.
American Idol found its cowboy with John Wayne Schultz at auditions in Austin, Texas. Schultz performed “Believe” by Brooks & Dunn. John Wayne Schultz, named by his father who wanted his son to be rough and tough, impressed all three judges with his heartfelt rendition of the country song. Schultz explained that his mother convinced him to try out for American Idol after she learned she developed breast cancer. The diagnosis was three years ago but she is still here and accompanied him to the show. John Wayne Schultz is not new to the world of music. He recorded an album nine years ago at the age of 14 called “Ropin’ Dreams.”
Miranda Lambert is looking for a date for this year's ACM Awards, since her fiance, Blake Shelton, will be busy as the co-host of the show on April 3rd. Miranda won't want to sit alone, "I think I'm going to have to invite the pool boy or something," Miranda says with a laugh. "I'm just kidding. I don't even have a pool boy. Well, I have a pool boy. [laughs] It's his stepdad, so who knows. Maybe he'll be my date. When I think about it, I'm not going to have a date. It's kind of sad. I'll probably just sit next to a random person, a seat-filler." The woman with the most nominations (seven) will have more than awards on her mind during the show. She confesses she's a little concerned with what Blake might say, but she's sure whatever it is, he'll have folks laughing for days.
