Chris tweeted (@ChrisYoungMusic) Saturday that he was going to stay up until midnight to see if his current single, Voices, would stick at the #1 spot securing him a place in country music history. It did, and he did.
Chris is only the second artist to re-release a song that went on to become a number one single. Voices was originally released in 2008 but stalled at #37 on the charts. It was re-released last year (same song, same recording) and it's this week's number one.
The last time that feat was accomplished was in 1986 with Randy Travis' "On The Other Hand." Chris will be the star of the KFDI Listener Appreciation Show on March 26th. Free tickets will be available for the concert beginning this Saturday. Details here.
