Two American heroes were honored during a patriotic ceremony at the Daytona 500 Sunday when Rodney Atkins unveiled United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant (SSgt.) Matthew Hansen as the grand-prize winner of the annual “Your Name Here” 400 program. The April 30th race at Richmond International Raceway has now been officially named the “Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400.” Why two names? The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will not only recognize Matthew, but also his identical twin brother and fellow Marine, Daniel, who was killed in action Feb. 14th, 2009.
Blake Shelton says he and Miranda Lambert haven’t had time to figure out where to go on their honeymoon in May. Blake says, "I'm not lying, we still don't know what we're going to do," he admits. "We can't decide. We haven't made any plans." The only other thing he had a hand in for the upcoming wedding was finding someone to play at the reception. Blake chose Neal McCoy, which he calls 'a no-brainer.'
How does Kenny Chesney feel about going back on tour after a year off being on the road? He is chomping at the bit. When asked about next month’s return to the stage, Kenny said he’s ready to renew his “love affair” with his fans, "I've missed the energy. I've missed the excitement. I've missed the anticipation of the first note every night. I've missed that.” He’ll feel it again in one month in West Palm Beach. Lionel Ritchie is going country. Before you roll your eyes, you might be interested to know that Lionel has the backing of a few country music heavy hitters. The album will be made up of duets with country artists redoing some of Lionel’s and The Commodores big hits.. So far done he has done "Sail On" with Tim McGraw, , "You Are" with Blake Shelton, "Deep River Woman" with Little Big Town, and "Stuck on You" with Darius Rucker. Word is that Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland and the Zac Brown Band are planning on doing duets with Lionel for the album. It should be ready for release this summer.
