No clear #1 song this week in country music.  The two charts that track the top songs are split on who has the #1 song this week.  If you go by the Billboard chart, it’s Jason Aldean’s duet with Kelly Clarkson, Don’t You Want To Stay.  But, according to the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart, Taylor Swift has the #1 song with Back To December.  Both charts agree that Brad Paisley’s This Is Country Music is in the top 3.
 

 

Miranda Lambert is sick and is having to cancel her Australian tour opening for Alan Jackson.  Miranda has a respiratory infection. She was due to start the tour this Friday in Melbourne. She told fans about the cancellation on her website, saying “I was very much looking forward to going to Australia with Alan.”  Miranda’s mom, Bev, also posted on the website that she was getting Miranda the best of care and would have her up and touring again as soon as possible.  

 

Gwyneth Paltrow was called “country’s newest star” on the Academy Awards stage Sunday night.  Gwyneth confirmed that she is looking at signing a recording contract. "We're talking about it now," she told Access Hollywood on the red carpet. "So, we'll see." The actress made her awards show singing debut at the CMAs last November, with a live performance of 'Country Strong.   Gwyneth is surprised at her musical success in country music, "I didn't expect Sony Music Nashville to put this on the radio. I still feel like someone needs to pinch me, it's so bizarre."

This Saturday night (March 5), GAC premieres last year's big 3D movie, 'Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D.' The special debuts at 9:00 PM CT, and captures the songs and moments from the singer's Sun City Carnival tour. Shot in five cities over six nights, the film will give fans an intimate look at life on the road with country music's biggest ticket seller.
 

 

Also on GAC this Saturday night, the debut of the Reba McEntire “Backstory.”  The “Backstory” series delves into the backgrounds and the story behind the success of country music’s biggest stars.
