Trace Adkins isn’t apologizing for his latest single but he is blaming the songwriters for letting him believe it could be a hit. The song 'Brown Chicken Brown Cow,' from his latest CD, 'Cowboy's Back in Town,' is actually the punch line to a sexual joke from the 70’s. Trace says he won’t apologize to "the purists and the traditionalists” who think “I'm such an embarrassment to this genre," he tells CMT. "I do what I want to do."
In addition to appearing in his new video on the small screen, Trace is also getting ready to appear on the silver screen in a new movie, 'The Lincoln Lawyer,' as part of an all-star cast including Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe and William H. Macy. 'The Lincoln Lawyer' hits theaters March 18. Watch a clip from the film here.

Gwyneth Paltrow has signed a nearly $1 million deal with Atlantic Records to release her first full length album. Gwyneth turned some heads with her performances in the movie 'Country Strong'. Gwyneth is not saying that she will put out a purely country album. She is now talking about a duet with R & B star Jay-Z, a close friend.
This week, we have an undisputed #1 song. Jason Aldean's 'Don't You Wanna Stay' duet with Kelly Clarkson stayed on top of the Billboard country chart, and took over the top spot on the “other” Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart. Brad Paisley's 'This is Country Music' moves up a slot to No. 2 on both charts, followed by Billy Currington's 'Let Me Down Easy.'
We're sending our best wishes to Country Music Hall of Fame member and legendary singer Ferlin Husky. The singer is in critical condition in a Middle Tennessee hospital. The 85-year-old was admitted to the hospital after having trouble breathing. Ferlin suffers from COPD - chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Brad Paisley is honoring the group “Alabama” with a duet he has recorded for his upcoming album, 'This is Country Music,' out May 24. The country superstar says a song called 'Old Alabama' will be the next single. The iconic band is featured on the track, which samples the group's hit 'Mountain Music.' It seems we are in for more than a few treats on Brad’s new album. He has also released that he has done duets with Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood on the album as well.
