Reba McEntire's 84-year old father, Clark Vincent McEntire, is making steady progress in his recovery from a stroke. Reba's younger sister, Susie McEntire-Eaton reports, "Daddy is holding his own right now. We are giving him lots of updates about what is going on with each of us and loading him up with lots of hugs and kisses." 

 

 

Rascal Flatts have had a surreal moment last week . The guys recorded a duet with both Lionel Richie. Joe Don Rooney says the trio were starstruck when Lionel entered the room to record 'Dancing on the Ceiling' with them for Lionel's upcoming duets album. "When he walks in the room, it's like, 'Wow!,'" Joe Don Rooney says. "This guy is so amazing. He has this huge personality, and it's also very sweet and real and he's just one of the greatest artists ever. Gary LeVox agrees, "You're talking about a guy that was part of one of the biggest songs ever -- 'We Are the World' -- so that's when your mouth drops, and you go, 'Ahhhh.'"
 

Jason Aldean is still on top of the country charts, for the third week in a row, with his 'Don't You Wanna Stay' duet with Kelly Clarkson. Billy Currington's 'Let Me Down Easy' rises to No. 2 on both charts, followed by Thompson Square's 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' at No. 3. Fans may be surprised to find out 'Don't You Wanna Stay' was actually written for one singer, not two. "The song wasn't written as a duet," Jason tells The Boot. "It was written by Jason Sellers, who was one of the writers and sang the demo on it. So, the song was great the way it was, but it's a lot cooler having [Kelly] on it."

 

The artists up for ACM Entertainer Of The Year are counting on country music fans to vote.  The Academy Of Country Music allows fans to decide who gets both the Entertainer Of The Year and the Best New Artist Of The Year Awards.  You can vote for both at www.voteacm.com.  Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift have been nominated for the Entertainer Of The Year Award, while Eric Church and The Band Perry are the choices for Best New Artist.

Gwyneth Paltrow did it and now actress Jennifer Aniston is doing it too. That is, making a movie about country music.  Jennifer Aniston has announced she will produce and star in a movie about an all girl group, The Goree Girls, who formed in a Texas State Prison in the 1940's.  Aniston hasn't said whether she plans to sing in the movie like Gwyneth Paltrow did for the movie Country Strong.
