Jason Aldean leads the pack of 2011 CMT Music Awards Nominees, with four nods going in to the June 8 live broadcast. The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band follow with three nominations apiece. Up for the night's highest honor, Video of the Year, are Jason's 'My Kinda Party,' the Band Perry's 'If I Die Young,' Kenny Chesney's 'The Boys of Fall,' Lady A's 'Hello World,' Miranda's 'The House That Built Me,' Rascal Flatts' 'Why Wait,' Sugarland's 'Stuck Like Glue,' Taylor's 'Mine,' Carrie Underwood's 'Undo It' and Zac Brown Band's 'Colder Weather.' Fans are the ones who decide winners. Voting open at www.cmt.com through June 7.
Martina McBride did something different with her new album; she left Nashville to record it. Even though Martina and her husband, John, own the popular Blackbird Studios in Nashville, she decided to get out of her familiar environment to record her upcoming as-yet-untitled album, due in August. Martina notes. "I wear a lot of hats when I'm here, not only to my children, my husband, my record company, I'm always getting pulled in all different directions, and the music really kind of comes second, honestly." Martina asked her kids if that would be ok if she went to Atlanta to record the new album. "They were so supportive. They said, 'Mom, you should go and do it.' So that was a really sweet thing to do, and it really gave me this freedom to go."
Tim McGraw was on The View Wednesday. He was asked about his noticable weight loss. "Well, I quit drinking three years ago," the superstar told the ladies, "because a couple of things happen when you quit drinking; the extra calories you don't have but you actually feel like getting up and working out." Tim's Emotional Traffic tour is coming to Intrust Bank Arena on May 19th, 2011. Seats are still available at www.selectaseat.com
After the media scrutiny over LeAnn Rimes losing weight in anticipation of her wedding day, pictures of the country star's plunging neckline, leg-flashing wedding gown have surfaced. LeAnn walked down the aisle in a revealing Reem Acra gown -- a high slit revealing her legs with every step she took toward now hubby, Eddie Cibrian. The pair said 'I do' in California in front of an intimate gathering of roughly 40 friends and family -- including Cibrian's two sons, Mason and Jake, from his marriage to Brandi Glanville.
