Toby Keith, whose songs 'Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue' and 'American Soldier' have given hope and comfort to U.S. military personnel, was wrapping up his ninth USO tour in the middle east when word reached him about the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Toby shared his thoughts on his Facebook page: "It's a great day to be an American. I been tellin' ya for a decade that the US military would hunt down and kill world enemy #1! While traveling abroad, I am blown away by the positive coverage by the world media. There IS a consensus in the world media I have never seen before. Thanks to our commander-in-chief for having the cajones to finish this job, but the mission is far from over."
Blake Shelton has chosen his friend, Reba to join him on the “The Voice” for a few episodes. Each of the four coaches is bringing in another pro to help work with the contestants. Reba be part of the handful of upcoming “battle” episodes of “The Voice.” “The Voice” is the reason Blake won’t be performing at the Steamboat Days in Burlington, Iowa. He has to be in Los Angeles for the taping. Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone” pal, Trace Adkins, will perform in his place Tuesday, June 14. The director of entertainment for the festival says he’s working with Sheltons management team to secure a 2012 date for the 5Oth Anniversary Show. “The Voice” airs Tuesdays on NBC.
Shania Twain will be making the rounds on various television shows promoting her new book, From this Moment On and her new OWN series ‘Why Not? with Shania Twain. Shania will appear The Oprah Winfrey Show on May 3rd, followed by an appearance on NBC’s Today show May 4th. She’ll stop by The Ellen DeGeneres Show May 12th and CBS’s The Talk on May 18th. From This Moment On hits shelves May 3rd. Why Not? with Shania Twain premieres on OWN May 8th at 11:00 p.m. ET. Looks like Shania is geared up for quite a come back.
Taylor Swift will give the closing performance at 2011 CMA Music Festival. The superstar, who has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and placed singles atop the Country and pop charts, has been added to the Nightly Concert at LP Field on Sunday, June 12th. CMA Music Festival takes place Thursday through Sunday, June 9th-12th, in downtown Nashville. The event, which celebrates its 40th birthday since beginning as Fan Fair® in 1972, will once again be filmed for an ABC television special to air in late summer.
