SHANIA TWAIN opened up to Oprah Winfrey Tuesday saying that she didn’t want to live after finding out her husband Mutt Lange was having an affair. "I didn't want to kill myself but I didn't want to live," a somber Shania Twain said. Lange was having an affair with one of Shania’s closest friends and secretary at the couple's Switzerland home.
Shania has written a book about the ordeal called “From This Moment On”, released Tuesday. "Why Not?", Shania’s reality show on OWN will premiere this SUNDAY (5/8) at 10p (CT).
Side note: at the Oprah show, Shania surprised the audience with tickets to the upcoming CMA Music Festival and hotel accommodations. She will return to the CMA Music Festival after a 15-year hiatus from the annual event. Shania also promised a private lunch with the audience members while they were in Nashville.
Carrie Underwood and MCA’s Vince Gill are a video sensation. Their performance of the Gospel classic “How Great Thou Art,” on the "Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country," special has now exceeded 4.5 million views on YouTube. Watch it below:
The 2011 CMT AWARDS will be held from NASHVILLE on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8th at 8p (ET/PT), and the first set of performers have been announced for what will be the 10th Anniversary of the fan-voted show. JASON ALDEAN, KEITH URBAN, LADY ANTEBELLUM, RASCAL FLATTS and SUGARLAND will all be performing.

SARA EVANS has the #1 Country song in the nation this week, as “A Little Bit Stronger” sits at #1. Sara is the first female artist to reach No. 1 this year on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts. “A Little Bit Stronger” was co-written by Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, by the way.
LADY ANTEBELLUM will perform their new single “Just A Kiss” on the AMERICAN IDOL results show on THURSDAY (5/5). The show kicks off on FOX-TV at 8p (ET). They tweeted on FRIDAY (4/29), "SO excited to perform a new song next THURSDAY on IDOL! Hope you guys can tune in!”
DWAYNE JOHNSON, also known as the THE ROCK, will portray country legend CHARLEY PRIDE in an upcoming film about the singer’s life. Originally Terrance Howard was picked to play the part, but new management took over the studio that was filming the movie and changes were made. Charlie himself has ok’d the replacement and is involved with the project he told THE TELEGRAPH JOURNAL. No release date for the film has been decided.
