Lady Antebellum just keeps setting the bar higher and higher.  Their latest singlem 'Just a Kiss', has made history.  It debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week it was released, making it the highest debuting song by a country group in the 52-year history of the all genre chart.  "Just A Kiss" also sold 211,000 copies in its first week, landing at No. 1 on the iTunes country singles chart and becoming the Lady A's fastest-rising single to date.  It is the first single off the trio's highly-anticipated third studio album.   It  So, if there was any fear of not being able to follow the monstrous, Grammy-sweeping success of 'Need You Now,' the trio can now breathe a sigh of relief!

Keith Urban has opened a new contest to choose one lucky fan to fly to Nashville June 9, to serve as his videographer for a private event Keith is hosting. The winner will shoot footage that will then be used on KeithUrban.net. Of course, to get that video footage, the winner will get a VIP Press Pass, giving them access to all the behind-the-scenes happenings of the day.  You will have to be creative to win.  Submit your best photo of how you 'Get Closer' to Keith before May 27, because Keith is going to hand-pick the most creative submission.  Flight, hotel and other travel accommodations will be included in the grand prize winner's package, while the runner up will receive an autographed Keith guitar.


Brad Paisley wants the next single from his yet to be released new album, 'This Is Country Music,' to be his duet with Carrie Underwood.  He recorded the song 'Remind Me,' with good friend Carrie and is pretty sure that's what will be following up "Old Alabama." The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year says asking Carrie to perform on the song with him was an easy decision. "We've become really close, having toured together and become friends."  He called Carrie to try and give her an idea of what the song was about.  Brad describes that phone call to us:  (((Audio))) 
 

 

Miranda Lambert is getting a great wedding present this week. Miranda's single 'Heart Like Mine' has claimed the top spot on both the Mediabase/Country Aircheck and Billboard country charts, making it the undisputed #1 this week. Brad Paisley is hot on her heels with 'Old Alabama' at No. 2 on both charts.  And, Sara Evans falls to #3 with 'A Little Bit Stronger.'

John Rich called us yesterday to talk about making it to the final two on 'Celebrity Apprentice. He is up against Oscar-winning actress, Marlee Matlin.  John and Marlee will be returning to New York for the live finale Sunday night to find out who will be hired by Donald and win the $250,000 prize for their charity.  John was able to impress Piers Morgan in an interview phase, even though Piers made a couple of unflattering cowboy hat remarks.  ((Audio))

Garth Brooks is being honored for his songwriting contributions. Garth will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York City on June 16, with good friend Billy Joel doing the official honors. Among the songs Garth has written are the monster songs including 'If Tomorrow Never Comes,' and 'The River.'

Garth has announced his next series of Las Vegas concerts will be held on August 19 and 20th, September 9th, 10th, 23rd and 24th, October 7th, 8th, 21st and 22nd and November 4th and 5th. Tickets go on sale on Saturday, May 21st at 12n (CT). Tickets are $225 plus service charge and tax, $253 total.
