Reba is the most successful women in country music history, and she will be honored for that experience this Sunday when she is inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame this Sunday. When asked what advice Reba would have given herself 25 years ago, she says she wouldn't, "I don't think I would give me any advice because that would ruin it. If I said be patient, that would ruin the spontaneity or the ambitiousness that I have, and had, and the determination and the competitiveness that I've always had."
Clay Walker could hardly sing for all the tears flowing on the stage of the Wildhorse Saloon. Clay was taping an episode of a new Lifetime series called "Coming Home" where Army families are surprised by their soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Tune in for Clay's episode on Lifetime this Sunday night at 8pm where he brings a wife up on stage and watches her reaction as her husband surprises her. He was brought home early for the surprise. Clay was so moved he said it was difficult to sing to the couple with all of the tears flowing. Be sure and tune in or set your DVR- you'll be glad you did!
Taylor Swift is the highest ranking country artist on the new Forbes list of the 100 most powerful celebrities. Taylor ranks at number 7. There is a huge gap between her and the three other country stars on the list. Brad Paisley comes in at 48th. Toby Keith is ranked 51st. Tim McGraw is the 61st most powerful celebrity on Forbes’ list. Lady Gaga tops the list as she pushes Oprah Winfrey out of first into second place this year.
Brad Paisley's new album, This Is Country Music, comes out Monday, May 23rd, featuring a special appearance from his friend Clint Eastwood. The screen legend whistles on the instrumental track "Eastwood." Brad says he and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley met Clint and his wife Dina when they honeymooned at the Eastwood's mission ranch in California, and they ended up spending the weekend with the Eastwoods. Brad says, "I never dreamed I'd ever get to know him like that, you know." Brad says Clint ended up whistling for his new album after their wives exchanged emails about the song.
Blake Shelton has put the finishing touches on his forthcoming ninth studio album and has turned it in to his label for its release July 12. The singer did not even have a name for the new project ... that is, until now. The album will be titled 'Red River Blue.' "There's a handful of things that people would expect from me about in-breeding and drinking and dogs stuck together and stuff like that," Blake tells The Boot of 'Red River Blue.' "But there will be plenty of positive, fun love songs, because that's where I'm at right now. I mean, I'm getting married in a month and about to have my manhood cut, but I'm happy about it for a change. I'm ready for that part of my life."
John Rich is fighting to win the title of 'Celebrity Apprentice' this Sunday on NBC, and at the same time he is promoting not one, but two "six pak" albums released this week. One is titled 'Rich Rocks,' featuring six uptempo tunes, and the other, 'For the Kids,' was developed to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the charity John is playing for on 'Celebrity Apprentice.' John told us that he will be singing "For The Kid's" on the show's finale this Sunday night. John has emailed us that he will be calling us Tuesday morning to talk about what happens Sunday night and give us some copies of his new CD's to give away. Of course, the finale is live so we won't know who wins, John rich or Marlie Matlin, until Donald names his new Celebrity Apprentice.
