Shania Twain and Taylor Swift will open tonight's CMT Music Awards show with a Thelma & Louise-inspired video parody.  The video shows the two of them in a vintage convertible.  The video was shot Monday in a community south of Nashville. Glee star Chord Overstreet also appears in the video. He is the son of Nashville-based-singer-wongwriter Paul Overstreet.

The CMT Music Awards air tonight at 8pm on CMT TV and CMT.Com.  Kid Rock will host from Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. Performers include Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Big & Rich, Toby Keith, the Zac Brown Band, The Band Perry and Luke Bryan.  Shania Twain. Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Gary Busey, Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon,  Sara Evans, Justin Bieber, American Idols Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, Melissa Peterman, Dancing With the Stars winner Hines Ward, the Green Bay Packers' Clay Matthews and actress Mary Steenburgen are presenters.

Buzz around Toby Keith's performance on the 2011 CMT Music Awards.  Toby will premiere a spanking-new single called “Made In America” that was inspired by his recent USO tour to the Middle East.

The CMA Music Festival starts Thursday and runs through Sunday (June 9-12) celebrating its 40th year.  The music plays practically nonstop with more than 150 performers including Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, and newlyweds Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. Last year 65,000 attended the festival.  Many of those 65,000 fans will be looking to get a few autographs.  Proceeds from the past five CMA Music Festival events have helped fund school music programs. Since 2006, CMA has donated nearly $4.8 Million through its KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING campaign.

Blake Shelton says starring on “The Voice” has been fun, frightening and gratifying. At 8 p.m. Tuesday, the show begins its live performance rounds. “I really am having a lot of fun with it. I’m glad I did it. You know, being just a redneck from Oklahoma, I’ve learned the hard way that it’s a different world to step into that Hollywood spotlight and to be on television once a week in front of that many people.” Ratings for “The Voice” soared even higher last week, drawing more than 14 million viewers. The network hasn’t confirmed that Shelton and his cohorts will return for the show’s second season; however, the country star said he would be glad to do it all again. “I love the show. I’d be happy to come back,” Shelton said.

Shania Twain will be making an announcement Wednesday afternoon (June 8) at a press conference in Nashville.  Her management company has described it as a "big announcement." No other details have been revealed. The 2 p.m. CT event will be streamed live on her official website -- http://www.shaniatwain.com/. The announcement will be made just hours before Twain appears as a presenter at the 2011 CMT Music Awards.

Lady Antebellum will release its third album, Own the Night, on Sept. 13 on Capitol Nashville. The project's first single, "Just a Kiss," is the fastest-rising release of the trio's career. The band cleared its calendar after winning five Grammys in January to begin rehearsals for the album, bringing songs they had already written. The album title comes from one of the new tracks, titled "We Owned the Night." Lady Antebellum will perform at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday (June 8) and the CMA Music Festival on Friday (June 10). The group released their previous album, the triple-platinum Need You Now, in January 2010.
