Trace Adkins says he is forging ahead after losing his home to fire on June 4th. Trace hasn't missed a performance and doesn't expect to. Trace says his family is "still in shock" and reminders of the fire come at odd times. Trace said, "I realized I needed a shave and I had to go buy some razors. Just little things like that, you just don't even think about it and then all of a sudden you say, 'I need....oh, I don't have that anymore." In a side note, Trace's 9 year-old daughter Brianna was given PETA's Compassionate Action Award for helping to rescue the family's two dogs from the burning home.
Blake Shelton isn't sure if he will return to TV next year. Blake is one of four celebrity coaches on NBC's hit show, 'The Voice.' Blake says he is having a good time with co-coaches Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine in the famous over-sized red swivel chairs each week. But, he can't say for certain that he will be back on the show for a second season. Details are still being worked out. "The reality of it is, you've got four different artists who are doing completely different things and a network that has a time schedule that they want things to happen in," he explains. "Who knows what'll happen, but I'd hate to miss it."
The second installment of Cars is coming. The soundtrack is already out (as of Tuesday, 6/14.) Brad Paisley has two songs on the soundtrack. He says the experience of writing the songs was out of his "comfort zone." "The writing process (for a soundtrack) is really creative — it's the perfect canvas for a songwriter," says Paisley. He had to leave his comfort zone of "nice, safe country music where everybody gets along and is supportive and 'Bless your heart' all the time," says Brad. "I'm a country musician. I know how to play jazz, and I can play rock. But I've had to fight my entire career to get a little respect from people who don't understand where I come from." You will never see Carrie Underwood on Dancing With The Stars. She was approached by producers of the Australian version of the show, but says she is a "terrible dancer." Carrie did perform 'Undo It' on the show.
This year Brad Paisley will have a great seat to see the fireworks on the 4th of July. Brad will be performing at the "Macy's Fourth Of July Fireworks Spectacular" concert with Beyonce. Immediately after the concert, the fireworks will be fired off over the Hudson River. It will all air live on NBC on Monday, July 4th.
Garth Brooks is being honored tonight (Thursday, 6/16) as a songwriter. Garth is being inducted into the Songwriter's Hall Of Fame.
