The Big Machine Label Group has secured naming rights for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, collaborating to create a unique festival environment at the track that will appeal to music and auto racing fans alike. Officially billed as the Brickyard 400 presented by Big Machine Records.com the event will feature Superstar artists Rascal Flatts and Reba; The Band Perry; Justin Moore, and others.“Music and racing are in my DNA and I’ve been involved in connecting the two for quite some time. With the recent sponsorship of Dan Wheldon’s Indy 500 winning effort, the Big Machine Records brand is more recognizable than ever!” said Scott Borchetta, President & CEO of the Big Machine Label Group. The Brickyard 400 will take place on Sunday, July 31, 2011.

Get well soon wishes go out to Taylor Swift, who had to postpone Sunday night’s concert in Louisville, KY due to illness. Taylor tweeted her apologies to fans, "This is my first time having to do this. I’m so, so sorry.” The show has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 11. Taylor will have a few days to rest and recover as her next scheduled tour date is Friday, July 8.

 

Another artist to "call in sick" this weekend is Lionel Richie.  He is not going to be able to sing at the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular tonight (July 4) and hand picked superstar Martina McBride to take his place. "I am extremely disappointed to cancel my performance with the Boston Pops but must follow my doctor's orders," Lionel said in a statement. Martina is expected to bring the best flavors of Nashville to Boston. The spectacular will air on CBS.

Also on TV Tonight....Brad Paisley and Beyonce in New York for the Macy's Fourth Of July Spectacular on NBC.

Rolling Stone magazine has released its list of the Top 16 "Queens of Pop," with country royalty Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood landing at No. 2 and No. 11, respectively. The list was compiled based on statistics between 2009 through mid-2011. With almost 10 million albums sold and a staggering 42 industry awards won, Taylor trailing only Lady Gaga. The 'Mean' singer pulled in a staggering $73.9 million in touring sales, with her near sold-out Speak Now World Tour going strong throughout the rest of the year.
