The new number one country song this week is Knee Deep from Zac Brown Band with the assistance of Jimmy Buffett. Climbing to #2, is Lady Antebellum with ‘Just a Kiss’, and dropping to #3 is Jason Aldean with ‘Dirt Road Anthem.’ Chris Young sits at #4 this week with ‘Tomorrow’, while Dierks Bentley‘s ‘Am I the Only One’ remains in place at #5. No change also for Luke Bryan whose ‘Country Girl’ holds the #6 spot again.
Luke Bryan is about to come out with his new cd "Tailgates & Tanlines" on August 9th. He joined the Brian & Kellie morning show Tuesday and talked about the emotions he is feeling a week away from the cd's release, "you know I mean I'm kinda all emotions. You get a little anxious, you get a little excited. Anytime you have new music coming out you're always loving it, having it out, hearing what the fans say. Ultimately they decide and they will be the end all." Speaking of tanlines, Luke reveals he has one, "I gotta little tanline. I got raccoon eyes." Luke is currently touring with Tim McGraw, who he calls his idol. Listen to Luke's entire chat with Brian & Kellie here.
Toby Keith can't talk. He cancelled his Sunday night concert in Canada due to Laryngitis. Toby posted on his Facebook status "A severe case of Laryngitis and doctor’s advice forced me to cancel my show at Big Valley Jamboree. Hate that I had to do that. Thanks to Ronnie Dunn for extending his set and thanks for all of your get well messages."
Blake Shelton doesn't regret speaking his mind on Twitter. "In country music, I think one of the ways we may have gone wrong in the past is trying to be politically correct all the time," Blake tells the Los Angeles Times. "I think the worst thing you can do is blend in. Why would you ever want to blend in?" He adds, "I want to stand for something, and it's probably going to be something that some people stand against."
