Trace Adkins says he knows how to stimulate the economy.  He says, "I think the best way to stimulate the economy is for somebody to go out and buy my CD because I'm gonna take that money and give it to....Dillard's." Trace Adkins shops at Dillards? "I don't go to Dillard's, but everybody, every woman in my life does. If that money comes to me it's gonna go directly back into the economy either at Dillard's or Saks or somewhere like that. You know, I'm just trying to do my part." “I’m Proud To Be Here” Trace’s latest CD came out on Tuesday amidst all of the news about the debt ceiling vote.

Blake Shelton  was smiling at us from the cover of this Sunday’s issue of PARADE Magazine.  Blake opened up about why he took so long to pop the question to Miranda Lambert. Blake had been married before and says his 2006 divorce was rough on him, “It was the worst experience of my life. Nothing was worth risking that again. I wanted to be really sure this time, and I wanted Miranda to be really sure.” Miranda was quoted in the article saying she knew Blake had reasons for delaying the proposal but decided not to push him to get married again.  Miranda tells PARADE. “When I finally told myself I’m just going to love him and see what happens, that’s when he bought the ring.”

Keith Urban will bring the Get Closer tour to Wichita next Tuesday night.  Ever wonder what life on the road is like for a country superstar?  In a recent interview for The Tennessean, a Nashville newspaper, Keith said he usually finishes playing at 11pm and stays up till around 2am before heading to bed.  Then it’s up around 10am for a workout.  When he’s not on the road or he makes his frequent visits home to Nashville to see his family, he is up at 6am with his daughters. That turns his body clock around. He says he would rather not miss those morning hours with his girls.

The American Idol country stars are about to both debut new videos this week.  First up will be Lauren Alaina’s video for her debut single, “Like My Mother Does,” which will premiere today (August 8th) on GAC and CMT.   “The video is all about my mom and it has footage from my childhood and pictures of me and my family while I was growing up,” she says. In other Lauren Alaina news, she will perform with Martina McBride in the three-hour prime-time concert special, CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, which airs on ABC this Sunday, August 14th,7-10 p.m. CT.

Scotty McCreery’s video for his debut hit, “I Love You This Big,” will premiere Tuesday Aug. 9. Again both GAC and CMT plan specials surrounding Scotty’s video release, including behind the scenes footage of the video being shot.  Scotty’s video was shot entirely in Los Angeles, but Scotty says they actually found alittle country spot I the heart of the big city in an area called Angels Point. “We found this park that had a little country feel to it and it all worked out,” he says. “If I hadn’t told you that, you would think we would have shot that in North Carolina. The music video has a summertime barbecue feel, like a July Fourth party with fireworks and hot dogs and families.”

If you missed it at the theatre, the movie ‘Soul Surfer’, featuring Carrie Underwood in her first big screen role, was released on DVD this week and shot straight to the top of the iTunes chart.  The movie is about surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost an arm in a shark attack, but came back to win surfing championships.  Carrie plays Bethany’s church youth group leader.
