The Academy of Country Music held its annual ACM Honors show Monday night at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, honoring special award recipients. The roster of winners ranged from country superstars Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Garth Brooks to Larry Gatlin and Tom T. Hall. All but Garth were in attendance Monday night to receive the Academy’s Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award, honoring trailblazers in the genre. In a video message, Brooks explained that it was wife Trisha Yearwood’s birthday, “and the queen takes precedent, of course. But I wanted to send my love and my gratitude. Thanks to the academy, not only for tonight, but for my whole career.”

LeAnn Rimes' next album Lady & Gentlemen is due out September 27 on Curb Records. On it, LeAnn remakes songs originally recorded by such country greats as Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Merle Haggard. LeAnn says the album is a tribute to the artists that made her fall in love with country music, "I realized that almost all of my favorite country songs from back then were sung by men,” says LeAnn of the album. “I am honored to take a step back in time and sing these songs from a woman’s perspective and hopefully help reintroduce them to a new audience.” The video to the first single, Give, is below:

Eddie Cibrian, LeAnn's husband, is hoping his country star bride will join him on his new NBC series, The Playboy Club, based on the swank '60s-era Chicago nightspot. Eddie said the show's producers are working on a way to incorporate Leann into the cast. The couple has temporarily moved their family to Chicago while Eddie tapes the show.
