Lady Antebellum owned the charts this week.  With 347,000 copies of Own The Night sold, they earn the No. one position on the Billboard Top 200. That is the biggest first week debut by a country artist this year.

 

 

 

 

 

Final preparations are underway at Arrowhead Stadium for this Saturday’s Taylor Swift concert. If you don’t get to go to Taylor Swift’s Speak Now concert this weekend in KC, you can still experience the Broadway-inspired concert when Big Machine Records releases the SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR – LIVE set of CD’s and DVD’s on November 21st.  That’s one day before the US tour wraps with a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden.

Toby Keith Believes It's Time For the Rich to Pay More Taxes. Being the richest country star on the Forbes List gives Toby license to talk.  When asked if he thinks it's a good idea to raise taxes on the wealthy, he said yes.  Toby said, quote, "I expect the wealthy to write a check 'cause it's as bad as it's ever been.  It would be unpatriotic not to try to save the country.  I'm sure that everybody that has a patriotic cell in their system will say, 'If it's gotta be done, it's gotta be done.'  I'd rather live here and not have as much money than live anywhere else and have twice as much."

 

Taylor Swift has sold her One Millionth concert ticket for her current ‘Speak Now’ tour and broke the 5 Million sales mark for her CD ‘Speak Now’ internationally. CBS’ ’60 Minutes’ has taken notice of Taylor and will feature her on the magazine show in the near future.  Lesley Stahl was at the recent (9/17) Nashville show recording everything with her 60 Minutes crew. 

 

 

 

CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton, has re-signed with his longtime label Warner Music Nashville. “I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else” he said, before  adding jokingly, “My master plan has worked…they can’t get rid of me now.”  

 

 

Country Dance 2 for Nintendo Wii™ is set to be released this holiday season.   The sequel to the popular country dance video game will include 30 top country songs from artists like Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Billy Currington.  Just pick up the Wii remote and replicate the onscreen dance moves to start earning points.
