After winning Season 10 of 'American Idol' in what was the show's highest number of votes ever, the North Carolina teen has broken two more records. His debut album, 'Clear as Day,' bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, making him the first country artist to debut at No. 1 in all genres with their first studio album. The 18-year-old is also the youngest male singer ever to top the all-genre chart on the first week of his solo debut. "I've been doing other people's songs for the past few months, and now it's going to be my songs, so I'm excited about that." Her second single from the album will be "Georgia Peaches." Rodney Atkins has metwith his birth mother. Rodney was given up for adoption as a baby and was adopted by a family in East Tennessee. But he always wondered who his birth mother was. "I needed to close that door," Rodney tells USA Today. Hee says he is glad he found his mother -- mostly because it brought her peace. The woman, whose identity he is keeping private, became pregnant at 19 and hid the fact from her family, opting for adoption over abortion. "I just wanted to tell her thank you, because she had some other alternatives to end that situation," Rodney told the paper. "I might not be here. So you don't want to take it for granted. ... She kept saying, 'I'm sorry.' I kept saying, 'Thank you.'"
