Rodney Atkins is denying that he tried to smother his wife with a pillow but he has filed for divorce from wife, Tammy Jo Atkins.  Rodney was arrested on what he claims are false accusations of domestic violence. According to court documents filed in Williamson County, Tenn., Tammy called the police on the morning of Nov. 21, after what is being described as an alcohol-fueled night of fighting.  Tammy Jo claims Rodney attempted to smother her with a pillow and threw her down a hallway -- right in front of their 10-year-old son. Rodney was subsequently arrested, and released on $2,500 bail.

Lady Antebellum and Justin Moore are among the artists who were inspirational in 2011. The 17th Annual Inspirational Country Music Association’s Faith, Family & Country Awards will begin airing just in time to be “inspired” for the Christmas season. The annual award show honors and showcases the biggest names and emerging talent among artists who perform Inspirational Country music. A few of this year’s honorees include Ricky Skaggs, Lady Antebellum, Justin Moore, Jeff Bates, The Fox Brothers, Joey + Rory, The Roys and the movie “Soul Surfer.”

Taylor Swift came in 2nd place on Forbes list for Top-Earning Women in Music. Lady GaGa took the top spot with a WHOPPING $90 MILLION earned. Although Taylor didn’t do too shabby either, with $45 MILLION. Carrie Underwood  made the top ten at No. 7 with $20 MILLION earned. It’s certainly not a bad year to be a woman in music making that much bank.

RCA Nashville is releasing its last Martina McBride album, 'Hits and More,' celebrating the angelic-voiced songbird's 20 years with the label. The compilation of both new songs and fan favorites, to be released Jan. 17, will feature the new tracks 'Surrender' and 'Straight to the Bone."
