Reverberations are still being felt from the tragic collapse of the stage at the Indiana State Fair just before Sugarland was to take the stage in Indianapolis on August 13th. The collapse ultimately killed seven people and injured several dozen more. The accident, precipitated by high winds, spawned a series of yet-to-be-settled lawsuits and prompted industry-wide discussions on the need for higher safety standards for outdoor stages and for more rigorous enforcement of the rules. Blake Shelton is already planning his wardrobe for Season 2 of 'The Voice' starting Feb. 5. "Christina, Adam and I have talked about how for one episode, we're going to all three come out wearing Adidas sweat suits like Cee Loo wears on the show," Blake tells The Boot. "But I'll have boots on with it." Blake is also strategizing on the voices he will be looking for. In Season 2, he'll once again be listening out for the most unique contestants. "I am picking polarizing voices. That's the cool thing about having artists be the coaches -- we all have a different vision for what 'The Voice' is. " Season 2 of 'The Voice' premieres right after the Super Bowl, Feb. 5 on NBC.
Jason Aldean was a big winner over the holidays when it came to digital downloads. Billboard's figures show that Jason's "Dirt Road Anthem" single saw a 146% boost in downloads over the Christmas weekend. Most likely the result of lots of digital music players being delivered by Santa.
