Brad Paisley was tweeting early on Friday with, "Happy New years eve eve!Unless your name is Eve,then Happy New Years Eve Eve, Eve.Unless your name is Steve.& Happy New Years Eve Eve,Steve."

New Year, but same songs at the top of the country charts. The No. 1 album and song for the first week of 2012 are the same as for the last week of 2011 -- Lady Antebellum's Own the Night is the top album and the Zac Brown Band's "Keep Me in Mind" is still the top single. The No. 2 through No. 5 albums are Scotty McCreery's Clear as Day, Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party, Toby Keith's Clancy's Tavern and Luke Bryan's Tailgates & Tanlines.Trooping in behind "Keep Me in Mind" within the Top 5 songs are Aldean's "Tattoos on This Town," Rascal Flatts' "Easy" (featuring Natasha Bedingfield), David Nail's "Let It Rain" and Eric Church's "Drink in My Hand," in that order.

Two notable new songs make their appearance on the singles charts, including, at No. 49, Miranda Lambert's "Over You", the song she wrote with Blake about the death of his brother. Blake makes it on to the new year chart with his latest single, "Drink on It" (No. 56.) 

According to Nielsen SoundScan, the Top 75 country albums sold a total of 1,085,698 copies the final week of 2011, a jump of more than 300,000 copies over the week before.

Oh, and one final list left over from 2011. Country Weekly magazine released their best and worst dressed country stars list. The highly styled, always-dapper country and movie star Tim McGraw tops Country Weekly's list of best-dressed men. Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and Chris Young follow Tim on the list of the top 5. The list of top-dressed ladies: Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Netttles, Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry and Reba McEntire.

 

Reba McEntire has paid for 200,000 meals for families in her hometown of Kiowa, Oklahoma. When Reba found out the food bank in Kiowa was desperate for donations, she wasted no time in donating a large sum of money. While Reba is refusing to say just how much money she donated, the director of the food bank says it's a substantial gift -- enough to provide 200,000 meals, or feed more than 2,300 families for one week.
