Sara Evans‘ latest novel titled ‘Love Lifted Me’ was released Wednesday (1/3/12). ‘Love Lifted Me’ is the third novel in Sara’s Songbird Series. The first two novels — ‘The Sweet By and By’ and ‘Softly and Tenderly’ — were released in 2009 and 2011. This new third installment in the series continues the storyline of husband and wife Max and Jade. The wife, Jade, loses trust in her husband, Max, after she finds out he cheated on her and fathered a child with her best friend, Rose. Rose dies in a tragic airplane accident, and Max brings the baby into their home to live. Sara says the book will serve as a lesson about looking backward while moving forward. Taylor Swift has been offered the role of Eponine (Ee-poh-neen) in the star-studded upcoming film adaptation of the musical "Les Miserables," according to TwitchFilm and BroadwayWorld.com confirms. Taylor's casting in the big budget movie is a major step in her acting career and a major victory over a number of A-list actresses also vying for the part. Taylor beat out Scarlett Johansson and Lea Michele for the role . The movie will also star Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Helen Bonham Carter and Russell Crowe and will be directed by Tom Hooper, who's last film was the oscar winning, "The King's Speech."
Zac Brown Band‘s ‘Keep Me in Mind’ still sits at #1 on the Country Singles Chart. David Nail jumps to #2 with ‘Let it Rain,’ and Jason Aldean holds on to the #3 spot with ‘Tattoos on this Town.’ Eric Church climbs to #4 with ‘Drink in my Hand,’ while Luke Bryan reaches #5 with ‘I Don’t Want this Night to End.’
Garth Brooks is still the top selling artist of all time. Soundscan says Garth has sold 68.5 million albums since 1991, beating out the Beatles by over 5 million albums. George Strait is the next top country artist at #6. Tim McGraw is 8th and Alan Jackson is 9th.
MIranda Lambert has some more gold. Not to wear, but it's nice to look at. Her album, Four the Record, has gone gold with half a million albums sold.
Carrie Underwood has purchased new band uniforms for the kids in four schools in her hometown of Checotah, OK. Carrie donated $350,000 to buy the uniforms, plus band instruments, computer lab equipment, physical fitness and playground equipment and some other items the schools needed. She made the donations through her C.A.T.S Foundation, which stands for Checotah Animal, Town and School Foundation.
