Craig Morgan’s latest cd, This Ole Boy, made a Top 5 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.  It's Craig's highest chart debut in his career and best opening week numbers since 2006’s Little Bit Of Life. This Ole Boy is Craig Morgan’s first new music in three years and debut release on Black River Entertainment.

Craig Morgan is adding more acting credentials to his resume.  He will guest star in an episode of 'Army Wives' on March 18.  Craig was an Army Paratrooper, so the guest spot will be a natural fit.  And, his friendship with actress Angie Harmon, who appears in his video for the single 'This Ole Boy' has led to a plan for him to appear in an upcoming episode of her TNT series, 'Rizzoli and Isles,' a crime drama set in Boston. The details haven't been worked out yet.

Another television show dealing with country music is coming to ABC TV this year.  First, we know that Reba's Malibu Country will be in the line up for ABC, now we learn they have also picked up the pilot of a new drama series called 'Nashville,' a family soap set in the music industry, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show, which at this point will only film the first episode, stars Hayden Panettiere as breakout musical sensation and Connie Britton ('Friday Night Lights') as a superstar mother of two, who has been forced to tour with the up-and-comer.

A new music competition show is coming to ABC this summer. 'Duets' will feature Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie, Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke performing each week with the duet partner of their own choosing. "The concept of 'Duets' is so fresh because its mentoring is active and participatory," Jennifer explains. "To have had the opportunity to perform with an established artist would have been so incredible when I was up and coming."

Earlier this month Kellie Pickler helped launch the “Road to the Ram® Jam,” an all-star country music series featuring five of today’s best country artists leading up to an invitation-only 2012 Ram Jam concert event December 29th in Nashville, Tenn., where all five artists will perform. Fans can get more information on the Road to the Ram Jam and enter the sweepstakes at www.RamTrucks.com/RoadtoRamJam. More artists will be announced for the Road to the Ram® Jam in the coming months.
