He's been to the No. 1 spot on the country charts many times before and now Dierks Bentley is back 'Home' with his latest single. The title track from his chart-topping album Home climbs to No. 1 this week, marking the singer-songwriter's ninth hit to reach the pinnacle.
Keith Urban admits that being a coach on the Australian version of The Voice has turned out to be more difficult than he thought it might be, "I didn’t expect it to be as difficult when you’re not watching somebody sing,” Urban says. “We have these little speakers in front of us on the floor, and we can’t see the performers, obviously, but we can see the audience. So, we get swayed by audience reaction or lack thereof.” Urban will continue to travel between the states and his home country over the coming few weeks as he finishes shooting “The Voice.”
Taylor Swift is No. 1 again. She is the top act on Billboard's "Money Makers" list. Taylor earned more than $35,719,902 last year, according to the Billboard list released Friday. Taylor beat out U2, Adele, and Justin Bieber. Kenny Chesney was the next highest country star a #3, making $29,837,103. Jason Aldean who made $13,409,011 and came in 9th. The list was based on U.S. income from tours, albums sales and publishing royalties.
Brad Paisley is revealing another one of his hobbies. He is a cigar aficionado. To prove it, he appears on the cover of the April issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine. Brad says inside the magazine that he has shared cigars with William Shatner. And, he would like to have one with George Clooney. He prefers the Cuban Montecristo No. 2. Brad Tweeted that he "was going for 'hillbilly secret agent' look on the cover. "Nailed it," Brad tweeted along with the cover.
Jerrod Niemann was test driving the bus that caught fire and exploded last week. "It was a bus I was trying for a day to see if we liked it," Jerrod says. He says he was actually in the back room of the bus where the fire started. "I thought the heater or something kicked on, ‘Cause it kinda has the same smell, a burning sensation, nothing crazy.” The moment they got off the bus, the fire spread quickly popping the tires and blowing the windshield out. Jerrod says it was like being in a movie, "like in ‘Die Hard.’ Chattanooga firefighters are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
There is some family controversy surrounding the changing of Tammy Wynette's name on her grave to her legal name at the time of her death, Virginia W. Richardson. Tammy's step-daughter, an attorney, says the change was made for legal reasons. Tammy's daughter, Georgette, said she was told the change was being made for legal reasons, but was told the name would be changed to Tammy's maiden name 'Virginia Wynette Pugh.' Georgette says she and her sisters "are very upset" .
