Jake Owen had a BIG weekend. First he was handcuffed outside a fast food restaurant in Vero Beach, FL (but not arrested) and then it was announced he is a married man! Just one month after popping the question on stage during a concert, the country star tied the knot with Lacey Buchanan in a barefoot (but no blue jeans) ceremony on the beach at sunrise Monday, May 7th. “A best friend for life. I now have a wifey," Jake tweeted Monday morning. "My face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life."
Unfortunately, the pre-wedding festivities got a little out of hand, as Jake got in trouble with the law just two days before the nuptials. It's unclear what exactly he did wrong, but it was likely alcohol-related. The country star had posted earlier in the day on his Twitter page that he was having "too good of a time" on Cinco de Mayo.
Jason Aldean won the Turkey Hunting race with hunting buddy and tour mate Luke Bryan. Jason posted a picture of himself with a turkey he shot and tweeted, "Gobble Gobble Son! American Idol’s country cutie Skylar Laine says she is glad she was ousted from the show on Thursday. She called it the most stressful time of her life. Skylar says she is looking forward to the tour and eventually making her way to Nashville. According to USA Today, Skylar is ready to call Nashville home. “That’s where I want to be,” she says. “I love Nashville. Mississippi’s my home, but Nashville’s second home, definitely.” Skylar says she hasn't discussed her future with Idol's Jimmy Iovine. “He just said he thought I was going to have a really long career, and I hope that’s true,” she says. “I really want to be singing country music for the rest of my life.”
Country star Carrie Underwood says she is enjoying her completely vegan diet. A longtime vegetarian, the "Before He Cheats" hitmaker gave up all dairy and animal products last year after a friend became vegan and started looking "amazing". She told ABC News she owes her big lifestyle change to her healthy pal: "(It was) like something had happened in her life. There was some switch flipped. Something was up. Her skin was glowing. Her eyes were gorgeous. Like, her body was amazing." And now Underwood is encouraging others to try the health kick."
