Jason Aldean's tally of No. 1 songs has increased to nine, with "Fly Over States" having just reached the chart pinnacle. Most impressively, the tune is the fifth consecutive single from the country-rocker's My Kinda Party album to reach the top spot. "I've always loved this song, and I really hoped it would be a single eventually," says Jason. "I didn't know we would get to put out five songs off this album, let alone have all of them go to No. 1. It totally blows my mind." Although "Fly Over States" has been a hit with country radio listeners, Jason has taken the stance that he'd rather the song didn't resonate with another sector of the U.S. population: politicians.
Oprah Winfrey was in Nashville Sunday to do the interview with Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike for her "Next Chapter" season opener this Sunday night. While she was in Music City, Oprah was tweeting about how much she enjoyed the southern hospitality. She tweeted, "Everyone is so darn NICE here!" Oprah also tweeted a photo of herself sitting with Carrie and husband Mike Fisher at their cabin in Nashville too. Carrie and Mike allowed cameras into their private retreat for the first time. They will also take Oprah to a piece of land where they plan to build their dream home some day. Oprah's Next Chapter airs Sunday night at 9:00 Eastern on OWN.
Tim McGraw got a sweet little gig that he is excited about. Tim will announce the top 10 qualifying drivers at the 53rd running of NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 coming up May 27 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Tim is also an ambassador for Pennzoil, and his appearance will tie in to the company's Love Live Cars campaign. As part of the campaign, Pennzoil is making a $100,000 donation to Paralyzed Veterans of America's Mission: ABLE, which retrofits cars so handicapped veterans can drive them.
Jake Owen would like to go boating with you this summer. If you're a huge Jake Owen fan and you have a speedboat, or know someone who does, then listen up. Jake is inviting fans in towns he's visiting this summer to take him boarding.This applies to us because Jake is coming to the KS State Fair this September. While that will be at the very tail end of summer, it still might be worth inviting him onto your board. Jake Tweeted, quote, "If you've got a boat, I'll go boarding with you this summer pre show.
