One of country music’s hottest duos might be taking some time apart. Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles recently revealed that a solo career, both for her and her partner Kristian Bush, could be on the horizon.“Kristian and I are very supportive of each other in that way,” Nettles told Zap2It at the “Duets” finale last week. “He’s been off and writing with everybody on the planet, and obviously I don’t have anything on the books right now as far as scheduled to go in, but I hope to be able to do that one day. In the meantime, fans can catch Nettles and Bush on Sugarland’s ”In The Hands of the Fans” Tour through September. Jennifer will be taking time off to have her first child in November.
"5-1-5-0" has hit No. 1, making for Dierks Bentley's tenth career chart-topper. The song tops both the Billboard and Mediabase country singles' charts this week. Dierks, who co-wrote the tune with brothers Brett and Jim Beavers, explains the inspiration for the lyrics came from a childhood memory of hanging out with a friend listening to Van Halen's album "51-50". Dierks says, "I dropped everything, and that's all I listened to for a while." Dierks recalls that's when he found out that "5-1-5-0" was the police code for a crazy person."
Jason Aldean’s upcoming fifth studio album is off to a racing start, with its lead single “Take A Little Ride” entering the Billboard country songs chart at No. 19 this week to become his highest career single debut. Plus, he will make history as the biggest debut ever for a digital song by a male country artist with projections approaching 200,000 downloads for Wednesday’s chart. “I am honestly just blown away,” said Aldean.
One note about the latest Jason Aldean single. He is in the process of signing an endorsement deal with the Coors Brewing Company. With that, he has changed the “Shiner Bock” line in TAKE A LITTLE RIDE to “A Couple Rocky Tops”.
