Toby Keith is speaking out on why he turned down the offer to be a judge on American Idol. Toby says he has been offered opportunities from all of the major networks over the past 8 years. "I've had through the last eight years all the major networks have offered me a sitcom. And they have all sounded inviting, something new to do. I sat down with them. In the end, television is just too much time." Toby says he just sounded like a lot of work, "I love the balance between working and not working and that would be working and working more." But, he was still honored and says if it was ten years ago, he night have had the energy to do it, but it's not in his day now.
Still nothing new about the possibility of Brad Paisley joining American Idol. But he is going to be on TV this fall. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will return for the fifth year to serve as hosts for the 46th Annual CMA Awards! The two superstars, who began serving as co-hosts in 2008, have already begun preparations for the upcoming show. "Hanging out with @bradpaisley today," Carrie tweeted (@carrieunderwood). "Just caught him in my make up chair.
Blake Shelton says he would love to be offered a long term gig in Las Vegas. He was quoted in the Las Vegas Review Journal, “If any of the big casino people are reading this, I'd be up for a big, Garth Brooks-type show in Vegas." Blake is currently filming season three of ‘The Voice’ while touring various fairs and festivals this summer.
Taylor Swift is getting the grandma stamp of approval. "We should be so lucky." That's what Ethel Kennedy said when asked about the possibility of Taylor Swift joining the Kennedy clan. Ethel's grandson, Conor, is dating Taylor. No one seens to mind the age difference. Taylor is 22. Conor is 18. Grandma Ethel gave a couple of details on how the couple became an item. " "Rory (Conor's Aunt) went to a concert of hers (Taylor's) with her two little girls, and that's how that started," she said. "She's a great friend of all of ours," added Conor's Aunt Rory. "We love her. She's awesome."
