Reba McEntire now says she too was asked to be a judge on American Idol this season. “No, no, no!” was her answer, the singer told Country Music Television. Reba says, “I don’t think I’d be able to critique somebody. I don’t speak too hard — that’s against my nature.” Toby Keith also turned down the same offer. An announcement on whether Brad Paisley will accept the job will be made this week according to sources inside the show, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter.
Las Vegas’ Venetian Hotel will reportedly announce today (Tuesday, 8/7) that Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be bringing their husband-wife stage show to Sin City. No other firm details at this time. We will keep you posted.
Lawyers for Tim McGraw‘s first Nashville recording label, Curb, are forcing Tim's new label, Big Machine Records, to produce documents on just exactly when they began talking to Tim about signing with them. And, they want those documents presented to them at a court hearing now scheduled for next Friday, August 17th. Big Machine called it a “fishing expedition.” It is the latest news in the ongoing fued between Tim and Curb Records. Curb has stated it believes McGraw is still a Curb artist and Big Machine had no right to sign him.
"Cheers, It's Christmas" is the title of Blake Shelton's next CD. Blake will release his Christmas album on October 2 on Warner Bros. Records. The collection will feature a remade holiday version of his hit single, Home, sung with Michael Buble', plus another duet with Reba McEntire, and an original new Christmas song Blake wrote with his mother, Dorothy, called "Time for Me to Come Home," about a son's return home to his family for the holidays.
Miranda Lambert is going to appear on the hit TLC show "Say Yes To The Dress" later this month. Miranda has been a fan of the show since she was planning her own wedding to Blake. She will be on the show to help her Pistol Annies bandmate Angaleena Presley select her dress for her wedding (which took place in May.) The episode will be the debut for the show's fourth season, Friday (Aug. 24) at 8pm CT on TLC.
Taylor Swift was the victim of a death hoax on Twitter over the weekend. E! reports that rumors that Taylor was found dead in her Nashville home began swirling over the weekend when a tweet surfaced that claimed to be from MTV News . This is not the first time Taylor has been the subject of a death hoax. She was the victim of a similar cruel online prank in 2009 after rapper Kanye West interrupted her on stage at the MTV VMAs.
