Fox News is reporting that Keith Urban is about to sign the contract to be a judge on American Idol. Quoting sources,
Fox says Keith will be paid $3-$4 million for his role. That would be the lowest paid of the judges. Those same sources say Nicky Minaj will also join the judges' panel for $8 million. The Hollywood Reporter is saying Brad Paisley turned down an offer to be on the show because the cash offered was lower than the other judges. That is not a problem for Keith Urban apparently.
Ronnie Dunn says he turned down an invitation to play the the Republican Convention. He posted on his Facebook page that he was invited but Ronnie says, "I told them to play Cost Of Livin' and have unemployed people, from all walks of life walk on stage and just stand in front of a big American flag. Nooooo response. Hey Democrats, call me....same pitch." Ronnie went on to say that he wasn't interested in getting exposure for the song but added that he does donate every penny he gets from the song to jobless people. The guys in Love and Theft, Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles, have noticed latelu that more and more of their fans are showing up at shows with the duo's lyrics tattooed on their bodies. "To see people making that kind of commitment and doing something that’s permanent like that, I mean, it’s an honor,” Eric says. Of course, that whole tattoo thing adds a little pressure! "You’re kind of challenged almost to keep putting out good, positive music,. . . stuff that people are gonna relate to . . . never know what someone’s gonna go out there and get tattooed on ’em,” Eric said.
Wynonna is ready to get back on tour, saying her husband is continuing to improve every day. Cactus Moser lost his leg in a motorcycle accident August 18th in South Dakota. Wynonna wrote in a statement, "We continue to feel loved and supported by the outpouring of messages from people around the world. Cactus continues to improve every day as he begins his road to rehabilitation. We are looking forward to the day when we will be back together on stage." Cactus is the drummer for Wynonna's band, Big Noise.
Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenowith are the "Brad and Carrie" of another country awards show. Trace will co-host the ACA Awards (American Country Awards) with Kristin on December 17th in Las Vegas. The twosome, who made their inaugural co-hosting debut on the awards show last year, are eager to return for the show which will air live from Las Vegas in December.
