Having tickets to see Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan was enough to make Washington Nationals first baseman Adam LaRoche run faster around the bases to get the game over so he wouldn’t miss the concert. Adam and a bunch of other players had tickets to the concert, but the game was pushed back because of a two-and-a-half-hour rain delay and extra innings. Adam told the "Washington Times", quote, "We're like, 'We need to go win this game as fast as we can.' Adam admitted that in the 10th inning he ran the bases faster on a single than he normally would. He said, quote, "[The concert] was crossing my mind rounding second, which I think maybe gave me an extra mile per hour." The Nationals did win the game . . . and the guys made it to the concert.
Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry prepared to co-host the upcoming ABC special, CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock, with Luke Bryan by making her brothers Neil and Reid pretend they were Brad Paisley! "I didn’t know what a co-host was supposed to do. You see the pro’s like Carrie and Brad on the CMA Awards, and it’s like well, "You have some big shoes to fill". I actually practiced for my interviews because I had never done an interview before," Kimberly says, "Reid, Neil and I, they played Brad 1 and Brad 2 in the bus before I went out and did that and kind of threw me some curve balls. That’s what I did to prepare." CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock airs Monday, September 17, on ABC.
Add Lady Antebellum to the growing list of country artists releasing Christmas albums this year. The trio says they have been putting in as much or more work on this collection as on any of their three previous studio albums. The group realizes that this could be how future generations remember them, “It could potentially outlive us, literally,” Hillary Scott said. “You think about Bing Crosby and some of those classic versions of Christmas songs, and it’s like we could be that. Which is crazy and heavy in a way.” “On This Winter’s Night” will be released Oct. 22
The date for VH1’s Behind The Music: Carrie Underwood has been set for Sunday, September 30th. That will be the 3rd week of the new season. Carrie will also be featured on VH1’s “Unplugged” series at 7 p.m. Oct. 2.
Big & Rich are planning a 72-hour listening party starting Friday to debut their new CD, Hillbilly Jedi. You can get to the party with an RSVP on their event Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/252787611509029/?context=create.
The duo almost had to rename their latest CD because legendary director George Lucas owns the term, "Jedi". But a phone call from rocker Bon Jovi, who has been collaborating on the project, cleared the way for the title "Hillbilly Jedi." It comes from one of the songs on the album, with the line “Hillbilly Jedi’s with attitude.” John Rich said. “Jon Bon looked at us and said, ‘If there were ever Hillbilly Jedi’s, it’s the two of y’all.’” Hillbilly Jedi will be released September 18th.
