Does Keith Urban Want To Quit Idol?

  • Print

Keith Urban may be asking American Idol producers to let him out of his agreement. According to The National Enquirer, an insider says Keith wants out. Insiders say Keith told execs: “I don’t want to be the peacemaker this entire season” – and he’d be grateful if they’d replace him. Keith is in the middle of the lady drama between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. “Keith knew there’d be friction between the two women, but had no idea how vicious and threatening it would become,” said a source.

Garth Brooks joined the Country Music Hall of Fame Sunday, with his hero George Strait welcoming him to the group in a star-studded ceremony at the hall of fame and museum. "I don't feel any different," Garth said after the official induction. Except, he says wife Trisha Yearwood has to say 'Hall of Famer' before she calls his name any time." ("Not going to happen," Trisha says.)

Taylor Swift’s fourth studio album, Red, is now available. It includes 16 songs, 10 of which she wrote herself. It is not a country cd throughout, and although Taylor is still considered a country artist she tells us she decided to switch things up with Red. "I just felt like I really wanted to push myself. I wanted to kind of stretch what I do artistically and, you know, my last album, Speak Now, I wrote every song by myself and writing alone became sort of a comfort zone so what I ended up doing for this album was just thinking, ‘I need to surround myself with people who do things differently than I do, and I want to see what that looks like, and I want to learn from it.’

If you haven't already, enter to win a Taylor autographed RED guitar at KFDI.com.  And, listen for Carol Hughes with more chances to win the guitar plus copies of the RED CD after 10am today, and all week.

Miranda Lambert may have fame and the fortune to go along with it, and she may splurge on Coach purses and Chanel sunglasses. And maybe a designer dress or two for the award shows.  But, she doesn't take it for granted. Miranda tells Good Housekeeping magazine, "I appreciate every single dollar I earn." Mostly because of her lean years as a child when she and her family found themselves homeless, hungry and wearing clothes from Goodwill. Miranda divulged that she still buys her makeup at Walgreens  and still drives her 2009 Ford truck.

We’ve all heard stories of country stars having to sell their prized possessions to be able to afford to chase their dream, and some have been lucky enough to buy those possessions back years later after they became successful. Brantley Gilbert says he may not get his prized possession back. He had a sixty-eight Mercury Cougar that we went flat broke and needed some equipment. He sold it to a guy for four-thousand dollars six years ago and thought he could go buy it back for four-thousand dollars.  Brantley laughs because he says he actually tried to get the car back, but instead of four thousand, "He wants twelve grand for it!" While Brantley would like to have the car back he says, "I am not going to pay him that much! He’s going to have to come down a little bit."
